i have two pitbulls and i have a 1 year old boy and they love him and would do anything to protect him. they are both pure breed dogs had all there shots and have not even shown any type of hostilty towards me or my wife or my son. people give them such bad reps because some people will inbreed them to fight. so sad how such a nice dog breed can be givein such a bad rap

commenter

Hey! I admire your writing and the way you explain things. Some of the comments on here too are insightful. I appreciate you. keep it up!

commenter

thats bull a study showed that pits are the second most people friendly dog. almost all of the reported pit maulings were a product of people raising their pits badly. most pit bull attacks are the result of bad ownership not a bad breed. the only real big downfall to the pit bull is the propensity for dog aggression

commenter

This site is crap pits are totally NOT dangerous cause i have on that was a rescue from a really bad family and he is as friendly as a butterfly.

commenter

Yeah, Some Pits is so friendly. Just They can’t control the emotion when They’re angry on something. I just forward information here from a forum

commenter

i have a pitbull myself. he is the most loving animal i have ever meet. he literaly lays on my face! i hate how pits have such a bad name bacause stupid people want to fight them or raise them poorly. ANY dog can be mean and kill someone if it was angry enough. it all depends on how it is raised. step off PETA! go eat somemore grass and stop trying to kill every pitbull in the world. if you want dog attacks to stop then kill the people who fight them and raise them wrong.

commenter

Thanks for giving some explanations about Pitbull Felicia

commenter

Pitbulls in fact don’t have lock jaw, they may bite and hold onto things(Like every other dog). It has been a very common misconception with pits. The only reason pits are considered the most dangerous is because they have a bad rap due to the morons that raise them to be that way. I’ve been around many pits that are the sweetest, most loving dogs in the world.

commenter

all types of dogs can be dangerous if not raised right, dont be ignorant and say that all the pits are killers because ive seen pits that are the most loving of them all and believe me they will protect you with their life and kill you with love why dont we see the good deeds that pits do like all those therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs or police dogs that are pits how come they are never in the paper or the news , noo but when an incident happens even if its not a pit only if it looks like one they get labeled and thats not fair.

commenter

i feel that all types of dogs can be dangerous. It depend on the way they were raised. My aunt has 3 boxers and 2 pits in her home with 3 babies. The dogs are not harmful or dangerous to the babies. Her oldest pit lays on the floor and lets the babies crawl all over them. Out of the 18 years i’ve been on earth n have been watched my family raise pits and boxers neither breed has been harmful to anyone that comes near any of us.

commenter

I’m afraid that the Pit bull needs a specific sort of owner…these pet dogs, regardless of how ‘loving’ still have teeth, are still animals without having moral principles and once they DO bite, won’t allow go. As in all animals…some tend to be far more suseptable to instinctual habits and time and time again, this breed tends to do just that.

Funny how this site is call World Interesting FACTS. I have searched the facts and I have personal experiences with many of these breeds including Pit bulls. I own two pits and a shih-tzu. I volunteer at the shelter, fostered pits, and work with rescue groups and I can honestly say that these are not facts, they’re opinions. Facts are pits are excellent rescue dogs, drug/bomb sniffing dogs, and therapy dogs. Facts are pits DO NOT have locked jaws. Like what many have said any dogs can bite and many will if put in the wrong hands or situation.

I personally have seen the best and worst of many breeds ranging from shih-tzus to dachshunds and even labs. Dog should not be judged by what breed they are, but their individual temperaments. Sure pits are seen as a “dangerous” dog in the media, but how many of us can believe solely on what the media tells us. The media filters out what they do not want to share. Where did the news about pits rescuing owners go? Where did the news about the bust dogs that turn out to be great therapy dogs go? That’s the media and it’s sad that it gave pits such a bad rep. What’s worst is it resulted in people being misinformed about breeds and stereotypes.

commenter

This way You can figured out the real “facts”. You can just write here and fix the people perspective to these dogs. Isn’t It? Thanks for your complete comment

commenter

omg they make all these dogs out to be extremly dangerous x people that make these sites dunt seem to realise that there not nasty dogs nd mostly just attack when provoked like a human would x x

commenter

Actually, We have come to the conclusion that all is depend.
Sorry I was reading an article and trying to share that here.
So Don’t generalize about all these dogs.
Thanks for all your suggestions.

commenter

That great i like pit bull. and great effort by the author i like it very much and will come back

commenter

That amazing as well as dangrous. very informative site need to come back again. Thanks

commenter

I do not agree with your list. In no way are pit bulls dangerous. They are trained that way, in fact they are one of the kindest most loyal dogs by nature. In fact I would have to say a weiner dog is far more dangerous than any Pit Bull I have ever been around. Pit Bulls get a bad rep for there involvment in dog fighting in which they never chose to be apart of, I’m sorry to say but this list is a disgrace to have them number one. I can see them on the list because of there strength, but they are not the strongest on the list, therefore your logic must come from there unfair portrail in the media. I hope you revize this list and give them a fair shake.
